Als je traint doe je dit om resultaat te behalen. Training is gericht op een doel. Dat kan bijvoorbeeld afvallen zijn of krachttoename. Het gaat om het verbeteren van de prestatie.
Hoe je presteert is afhankelijk van je lichamelijke en mentale gesteldheid. Deze twee hebben invloed op elkaar en zijn met elkaar verbonden. Als je mentaal sterk bent, zul je lichamelijk beter presteren en dit geldt ook andersom. Wanneer je je lekker voelt kun je ook beter presteren. Als fitnesstrainer en personal trainer probeer ik mensen te motiveren en zelfvertrouwen te geven, omdat ze zo makkelijker vol kunnen houden en
hun doel bereiken. Het mooie van fitnesstraining is dat het je niet alleen helpt bij doelen als afvallen of sterker worden, maar dat je door training ook lekkerder in je vel gaat zitten, minder last van stress hebt en zodoende beter kunt ontspannen. De discipline die je nodig hebt om te trainen, kun je ook toepassen als je moet studeren of werken.
Met fitnesstraining wil ik zoveel mogelijk balans aanmoedigen: spieropbouw en spierlenigheid, intensieve trainingen en rustperioden, aerobe training en anaerobe training, ondersteund door een goed voedingspatroon om zowel energie te leveren voor een training als om sneller te herstellen na de training. Net zo waardevol of nog waardevoller is balans in het dagelijks leven. Het combineren van je training met je werk en bijvoorbeeld je gezin is een vorm van kunst.
Door fitness verhoog je je belastbaarheid, kun je meer aan en kweek je overcapaciteit. Klussen, boodschappen tillen en traplopen gaan je beter af. Je hoeft trouwens geen superatleet te zijn om van de effecten van fitness te profiteren. Accepteer eerst jezelf zoals je nu bent en geniet dan van de stapjes die je vooruit gaat. Probeer dan zoveel mogelijk in balans te blijven op deze 5 gebieden:
uithoudingsvermogen, mentale focus, lenigheid, coördinatie en kracht.

Een mooier lichaam dat beter functioneert, een meer gedisciplineerde geest en een verhoogd gevoel van welzijn.
Natuurlijk zul je ervoor moeten werken, maar elke stap zal de moeite waard zijn. Succes!
